ECM Launch Services to Launch 11 Small Satellites Before Year Ends
18th December 2018
The latest launch campaign of ECM Launch Services (ECM) is taking place at the Vostochny launch site onboard the Soyuz-2/Fregat launch system later this month.
The ECM smallsat cluster — comprised of 11 CubeSats — was developed for a spectrum of commercial companies and universities coming out of the USA and Germany.
Having already performed autonomous works on each of the smallsats, they are now in the last stages of the mission preparation — in form of final electrical testing and integration between the ECM CubeSat deployers with the Fregat upper stage. This integration stage brings ECM’s initial work ever closer to the final ‘orbital’ stage.
This latest launch from ECM is scheduled for the 27th of December as a part of the Kanopus-V #5 and #6 Russian State Space Corporation Roscosmos Earth observation mission. The success of this mission will take the number of ECM launched satellites in sun-synchronous orbit to a total of 54.
More news from the launch site coming soon.
